Head Downtown this weekend and take an Art Walk! See the winning En Plein Air canvases đ¨find artists painting in this year’s event đ spot Bengal Tigers on Parade and other works that have become part of the growing arts scene in downtown. đśFrom start to finish, it’s just over a mile and there are over 100 local businesses to discover along the way!
En Plein Air paint-off is an exciting free outdoor event, sponsored by Fuquay-Varina Downtown as a way to support artists in our area and bring public art to our streets.
Friday and Saturday afternoon a contest of skills will challenge each artist to create an original painted masterpiece of Fuquay-Varina Downtownâs historic landscape. On Saturday evening a public auction will be held where art enthusiasts will have a chance to take home one of these treasures.
Friday, May 4th: Artists begin to paint in both downtown districts
Saturday, May 5th:
Morning & Late Afternoon: Artists finalize paintings
4:30 PM – 5:30 PM: Paintings will be judged
6:00PM – Public viewing inside Ann’s Diamond Center
6:30 PM: Winners Announced. Public Auction begins on Depot Street
