Join us in Downtown Fuquay-Varina on Friday, August 7th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM for another exciting First Friday celebration!
Enjoy late-night shopping, dining, and entertainment as businesses throughout both downtown districts stay open late and participate in First Friday. Stroll the streets, explore your favorite local shops, and take advantage of the Downtown Social District while you sip, shop, and stroll.

Explore Ashworth Park (131 S. Fuquay Avenue) for a selection of events for all of the family to enjoy:
Museum Tours, scavenger hunts, prizes and a celebration of local nonprofit milestones hosted by Fuquay-Varina Museums Tours will start at 5pm & end at 730pm with the celebration of local nonprofits beginning at 6pm
Animal encounters with Close to Nature Wildlife Rehabilitation Center
Live Music thanks to our collaboration with The Fuquay Writing Music & Film Society Feel free to bring a lawn chair, sit back and relax into First Friday

Transport between Downtowns:
Enjoy easy transportation between the Fuquay and Varina Downtown Districts! This month, we’re excited to offer two fun ways to shop, sip, and stroll between downtowns:
🚌 Charlee, Century 21’s iconic trolley bus
Charlee will be making round trips between downtown districts from 5:00–9:00 PM, giving you a fun and convenient way to explore both sides of town.
August First Friday Pick-Up & Drop-Off Locations:
📍 Fuquay District: S Fuquay Avenue outside Fuquay-Varina Museums
📍 Varina District: Parking Lot behind Quaint Plaza on E Broad St

Hop aboard the Prowler for a fun-filled ride between downtowns! For just $15, enjoy unlimited rides throughout the evening.

BBQ Blues & Brews is back for its 11th Year!
Southwestern Wake County's biggest BBQ, Blues and Brews Festival of the year returns to Downtown Fuquay-Varina on November 7, 2026, from 12-4pm Varina's historic downtown.
Join us for an amazing day; Sample and judge BBQ from the region’s top grill-masters, enjoy live blues music, and sip on locally brewed craft beverages. You'll also have the chance to explore local businesses, meet talented artisans at the vendor’s market, and connect with community groups. This family-friendly event has something for everyone. Join us in the fun for BBQ, Blues & Brews 2026! Due to the crowds and loud music, this is not an event that pets will enjoy, so please leave them in the comfort of home.
